The Cherry Barb (Pethia titteya) is one of the most popular and stunning schooling fish in the aquarium hobby. With the males displaying a rich, deep red coloration and a peaceful temperament, it is an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced hobbyists setting up a community or planted aquarium.
Growing to a manageable size of about 4-5 cm (1.5 - 2 inches), the Cherry Barb is much more peaceful than many of its cousin species in the barb family. To bring out their best coloration and ensure confidence, they should always be kept in schools of at least 6 to 8 individuals.

Pethia titteya is an omnivore and will readily accept high-quality flake and micro-pellet foods, as well as frozen treats like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms to maintain optimal health and vibrant colors.
